How to make soy honey glazed salmon:

  1. Prepare the Salmon:
    • Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. This helps achieve a crispier sear.
    • Season the fillets on both sides with garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika.
  2. Sear the Salmon:
    • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Place the salmon fillets skin side down in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
    • Flip the salmon and cook for another 2-3 minutes, depending on your preferred level of doneness.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the vinegar, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, honey, and ginger powder.
  4. Combine and Finish:
    • Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the salmon still in it.
    • Let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes, or until it begins to thicken. Be careful not to let it reduce too much.
    • Spoon some of the sauce over the salmon and let it cook for an additional 1-2 minutes so the flavors meld together.
    • Turn off the heat and drizzle the sesame oil over the salmon. Swirl the pan to coat the fillets in the sauce.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Transfer the salmon to a serving plate.
    • Garnish with chopped chives and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

If you might find that the sauce becomes too thick or sticky before the salmon is fully cooked, you can add a small amount of water to bring the sauce to your desired consistency. Keep an eye on it and adjust the water as needed.
